• ¶ 25. 1. Intro A
  In 1060, overcrowding at the ancient dwarven mountainhome came to a head, and dissent among the dwarves was high. The king was fearful. - R1ck
• Δ 24. 1. Intro B
  He decreed that a new home must be founded, and a group of seven stout dwarves was formed. They called themselves the Bold Hoary Magic Maggots of Death. - R1ck

  They packed everything they needed into a wagon, and set off. Their hopes were high as they searched for a suitable place for a fortress. - R1ck
• Δ 22. 1. Intro D
  Eventually, they found a place. Half mountain, half temperate grassland, with a brook running through it. One dwarf dreamed that there was something buried under the earth here, but what it is or where it is was forgotten. - R1ck
• Δ 21. 1. Intro E
  On the first of Granite, the dwarves arrived. They choose a spot next to the brook to place the fortress, and quickly began digging. A wall was soon constructed to protect them from whatever might lurk in the wilds. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 15. Rainbow Tower
  A tower who's sole purpose is to use up stone blocks of non-grey colour. The colour of the walls and floors regulates starting on the 5th floor. It is also a perfect square, but it doesn't look that way in the game, only here. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 18. White Tower
  Ah, White Tower, my marvelous mega construction. It is constructed out of a great deal of felsite and granite blocks, and defended by a moat mostly just for style. It is also the official sieger's entrance. The Tower is also serving as an apartment building until Dwarftown is completed.

• Δ 20. 19. The Twin Tombs
  Two tomb entrances, one made of silver blocks, one of lead blocks. The door on the silver tomb is an artifact. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 2. Surface Fort
  The surface area of the fortress, which is separated from the wilderness by a granite wall. There is outdoor farms, which grow every crop available in pairs, the trade depot, a refuse stockpile, a wood stockpile, as well as two entrances. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 3. Fort Gate
  One of the two gates that lead into the fortress. The bridge can be retracted using the lever, and there is a ballista and a catapult behind a wall of fortifications. There is also 3 stonefall traps and 3 cage traps. Invaders don't actually come through here, there is another entrance just for them. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 30. Iron Tower
  A tower that is being constructed out of iron blocks. It has identical dimensions to Rainbow Tower, but it is taking a lot longer to build due to it's distance away, and the fact that I only have a third as many metalworkers as masons. - R1ck
• Δ 20. 34. Black and White Tower
  It is constructed out of black and white stone blocks, alternating like with Copper and Silver Tower. Someday I will connect all the towers together with floors on the very highest level of the map. - R1ck
• Δ 19. 20. The Damn Dam
  In the winter, the brook near the fort freezes in late early winter, and stays that way until late late winter. However, up here in the mountains, the brook only freezes for about a fortnight. For two years I have attempted to capitalize on that short time frame and build a dam, but all I have been able to put in place is a single floodgate. That lead floodgate on the right is for flooding the tomb after it is occupied, it had a twin on the other side, but the trolls destroyed it. - R1ck
• Δ 19. 31. Copper and Silver Tower
  Another tower that is also accessed through Dwarftown. Well, not exclusively right now, since the first story walls aren't done, but it will be one day. It is being built out of copper and silver blocks, with the type of metal alternating every floor. - R1ck
• Δ 19. 4. Food Level
  This is the level of the fortress where food is grown, brewed, and cooked. There is also animal related workshops, the original bedrooms, a large food stockpile, and a flooded dungeon with 3 chains. The area to the south is where cloth is woven, dyed, and used. - R1ck
• Δ 18. 5. Wood Level
  One of the smaller levels, this floor deals with wood burning and crafting. The large wood stockpile is replenished by a small army of clear cutters, as well as by caravans. There is also 3 occupied coffins in a hematite vein. - R1ck
• Δ 17. 6. Stone Level
  This is the floor where stone as well as gems are stored and used. Three of the masons workshops are constantly making stone blocks for the various towers. To the west is a siege workshop and a couple of catapults, the point of which is to get rid of all the stone. - R1ck
• Δ 17. 8. An Outdoor Area
  There was digging done here in order to get native aluminum and more copper. A bridge of microcline had to be built to reach it all, which I may someday turn into the entrance for a mini-fort. Unfortunately, by digging stairs out here it gave a way for the goblins to access the fort in the siege last early winter. However, a couple of squads of dwarves destroyed them in the now clearcut ground below. - R1ck
• Δ 16. 7. Metal Level
  Metal working abounds here, where right now goblin loot is being melted, copper and tetrahedrite are being smelted, and metal blocks of various kinds are being made. There is also more full up tombs in a native copper vein. The left branch of the vein also leads to... - R1ck
• Δ 15. 12. Waterworks
  This is the intersection for the plumbing I set up which provides water to the pool and to below by using the brook and a series of floodgates. - R1ck
• Δ 15. 9. Living Level
  There is 33 nice bedrooms on this level, as well as three noble bedrooms, a few noble offices, and a general dining hall. Nothing too exciting, really. - R1ck
• Δ 14. 10. Barracks One
  The first military floor, with beds designated as barracks, and weapon racks and armour stands the same. There is also a few archery targets, and the beds near the pool are undesignated, and are to be used for healing. The only dwarf currently there is Mosus, Champion, who had his foot bit off by a hydra about 6 years ago. - R1ck
• Δ 14. 11. Pool
  No, not for swimming, dwarves don't really care for that, but it's rather for drinking from. 8 Years ago a siege operator went crazy, jumped in, and eventually drowned. The bones and the dress are still down there, but Moses and the rest of the military will eventually drink it dry enough for someone to go get the stuff. - R1ck
• Δ 13. 13. Party Level
  This entire floor is engraved, and filled with dining rooms marked as meeting halls, as well as public statue gardens. Dwarves with no jobs, the military, and many animals hang out here. Despite the name, there has only ever been one party here, which was thrown by a child. - R1ck
• Δ 12. 14. Barracks Two
  Basically identical to Barracks One, but without the pool. It is, however, an intersection point; to the south is the passage that leads to Rainbow Tower, to the north is the water chambers and the passage that leads to White Tower. - R1ck
• Δ 12. 16. Water Chambers
  After discovering in adventure mode that water increases the speed of those with good swimming skill and decreases the speed of those with no swimming skill, I resolved to created Aquatic Defense Chambers. I did so, and I trained many military dwarves to decent swimming levels, but in field tests it just didn't work out. The program was scrapped, along with most of the floodgates. The top room was then turned into food storage. - R1ck
• Δ 12. 17. Trap Hallway
  The end of the line for raiders of the fortress. In theory: When a siege begins, the two main fort entrances are shut, all outside dwarves rush inside through here, and the military awaits the goblin menace just around that corner. In practice, the gates are shut, but the outside dwarves don't come inside even though I try to make sure there is nothing to do out there. So the military has to rush out and try to save the civilians, which usually results in the death of some idiots. - R1ck
• Δ 11. 25. Pumping Access Tunnel
  A longish tunnel that eventually meanders down to pumping operations. It's currently being smoothed just to make it look a little better. It's starting point is one of the Dwarftown digging division bridges. - R1ck
• Δ 11. 26. Dwarftown Digging Operations
  Once all three floors have been dug out here, construction of Dwarftown out of stone blocks can begin. The underground city will contain 4 quarters; poor town, middle class town, rich town, and an storage area. This is the planned third floor, it has already been dug out, now channeling of the second floor has begun. I estimate the project will be completed in about 6 years. - R1ck
• Δ 11. 27. The Philosopher's Tomb
  Pretty self-explanatory, I think it is in a small gem cluster I found. There used to be lots of little columns of rock in the open space there due to dwarven channeling stupidity, but I disposed of them by digging up and down stairs, then channeling the down stairs, then removing the up stairs. - R1ck
• Δ 11. 28. Yet Another Tomb Vein
  See the pattern? A weaver who was killed by a troll in the recent siege was buried here, along with a few killed pets. For the stone columns around here, I built supports next to all of them, then I dug out the walls on the level below, now I'm hooking all the supports to a lever to collapse them. It's taking a really long time to do that. - R1ck
• Δ 11. 29. Urist's Folly
  I dug out this tunnel because I misused the depot trick, and I thought there was some sort of underground feature here. I then turned it into the access route for... - R1ck
• Δ 11. 32. Nobles Corridor
  These rooms are the bedrooms, dining rooms, and offices of the Duke, the Duchess Consort, the Hammerer, and the Tax Collector. At the end of the hallway is the kings rooms. Well, it will be once I actually get the king. I could right now, "The incoming king" is on the nobles screen, but I want to wait until I finish Dwarftown, especially since the queens palace will be in there. - R1ck
• Δ 10. 21. The Royal Guards Cane
  Originally a ore vein found while digging the tomb stairs. Before the trolls got in here, there were many felsite coffins, each assigned to a royal guard as a tomb. The bones up there are the bones of a drowned troll. Ha! - R1ck
• Δ 9. 33. The Dwarven Graveyard
  There's actually quite a few coffins in there, marked for citizens in the right part and pets in the left part, but I don't want to mess up the word murals. A metal vein leads to Black and White Tower from here. - R1ck
• Δ 5. 22. ROC Guardian Tombs
  The "C" on the left is actually two back to back ore veins, but the "O" and the "R" were created because there wasn't enough space. All of the fortress guards had granite coffins in the O and C, while there was the tombs of the two non-champion members of the military in the R. 4 Trolls are down here, but they should be dead from drowning in about 2 weeks. - R1ck
• Δ 1. 24. Pumping Operations
  Seeing as how the two tombs are currently flooded completely, I am setting up some pumps and evaporation reservoirs on this floor. I happened to run into a gold vein on the left side. - R1ck
• Δ 23. The True Twin Tombs
  The tomb on the right belongs to the most honoured mayor, while the ten tombs on the left are assigned to the ten champions of the military. All furniture is made of appropriately coloured metal. - R1ck
• Δ 35. Outro
  Well, now you've had the full tour, unless you just skipped to this POI for some reason, but either way I'll say now that I will upload a update for this map once year 20 rolls around. That will probably happen in either 6 months, or never. ;) - R1ck
