Just so you guys know, I'm not actually playing the game with reveal on, I just turn it on when I upload the map. I mined out an 89 by 89 area down in my fortress where I will put my workshops in 9x9 boxes spanning north south east and west. Living quarters will be just above the workshops along with dining pods and barracks.

I will raise it up in the case that I am sieged while trading with a caravan, locking them in and keeping them safe. Unfortunately with the first raising of the bridge for a test, I accidently crushed my tanner. Oops. - Jebraltix
