a few years have passed, My pop is now at 65. my castle is comming along. 46 of my dwarfs are masons.
For some reason the compressor stretched out my tiles, I have it set up so that the tiles are square. Anyway, this is the first floor of my castle!. The inner circle was originally gonna be made out of orthoclase until I figured out that it requires almost 2000 blocks (Pi X radius (22)^2) - magic dwarf

You can download the compressed map file:

but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

Indeed, stone is a bastard to get. Feel lucky you are not restricting yourself to a very specific mining system with support columns every couple of tiles and is a bastard to designate.

I hate to break it to... but your castle looks like mickey mouse lifting weights.

Sorry, I wouldn't have said anything if I'd known it would bother you.
That said, the changes look good. Must have been a lot of rewalling.
I'm kind of interested why you decided to embark somewhere without a river? Having a moat is, like, classic ^^

I was looking for a flat place with little to no hills, and no aquifer. This is the best i could find (in the 5 minutes i spent searching).

Haha! Yeah, it does look like Micky Mouse (Gumball135 cancels type comment: is laughing), but it's still a great fort =p Good job.

Hey, don't let them bug you about the Mickey thing. Maybe Armok the Blood God loves mice! Maybe the dwarfs are big John Bonham fans! This is a great above-ground fort, and breeding jaguars is a nice touch. Can you train them to be War Jaguars, or does that require modding the raws?

I like how this progressing. Not much to add onto my earlier comments other than good job.
