Currently in the process of draining the magmaduct (like aqueduct, but with mamga!) that I used to fill the lampposts that line the bridge.
Not sure what I want to do next, kinda lost direction with this project. Figured I'd upload it for now.
Running rather low on food, since my farmers (who double as masons) got trapped behind some constructions and almost died.
Edit: Updated title to the proper name, dunno why it was set as region1 :/
( 111 Late Spring → onwards )
This is one of the lampposts I've been talking about (incase you couldn't figure it out :P)
Each lamppost is made of:
4x Clear Glass Windows
4x Clear Glass Walls
4x Clear Glass Floors (on the level above, positioned above the windows)
Making this POI has reenforced my resolve to edit my tileset so the sky tiles aren't as similar as the window tiles. Or maybe vice versa. Who knows. - Sinergistic
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to
report a problem
with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

You can download the compressed map file:
2009-02/sinergistic-Metalgate-Copy of region1-111-8901.fdf-map
but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

That is the most amazing bridge i have ever seen. Pumping magma all the way up there and making lamp posts just kills it.
(3Dwarf pics maybe?)

It's incomplete, this is a screenshot from an earlier save. I'm playing in 40d9, and in order to get tools like 3dwarf to work properly, I have to copy the save over to a 40d game folder, which is more of a pain than you think it would be.

Does this place have a title, other then region1?
I would greatly appreciate learning its name.

Your new underground levels look awesome especially with your tileset.
I still can't get over how awesome your bridge looks in 3dwarf

Really though, this is quite amazing.
A very unique structure.

Loving that bridge; I'm tentatively planing to copy your support style for the entrance ramp on my current fort. The designs for the lower levels are also pretty amazing...

... Wow. That's really all I can say. Basically every part of your fortress is art to me. I'm envious of your creativity and I hope you keep pumpin' out the beauty. Good luck.

Oh My! I *AM* a noob i admit, but Dang!! Some of you peeps are just truly Amazing! I finally can survive even rough starts in untamed wilds with constant ambushes and sieges. As for building a fort, well i though i was getting the hang of it. Now that i have seen a truly amazing fort, i realize i have a very long long ways to go yet.

So, that "perpetual motion" machine is slowly losing water, huh? Sounds more like you made a water-fueled fusion reactor. Congratulations.
