Making progress on a defensive post north of the main entrance, accessible by an underground tunnel and (eventually) designed to be compartmentalized. Got the idea from the design of the Maginot Line. Hopefully mine will work better, and the elves and gobbos won't come through the Ardennes on Panzers.
Here's the remote sentry post. Drop down a couple of Z-levels, and you'll see the access tunnel. Eventually, I'll saw all the ramps off around this little hill, making outside access virtually impossible. - RedKing
