My underground cathedral is coming along nicely, but I had to get rid of most of the floors. Channelling it all away would have taken too long, so I dug out every floor and collapsed the top level, which also destroyed each level below it.
After I pulled the lever, it took about a minute to load, and then I could only get 1fps until the dust had cleared. But after that I was treated some nice "stone rain" - stones from just about everywhere in the cathedral all falling down on to the ground separately.
