Once the dome is filled with magma up to highest level, the pressure from 9 screw pumps forces molten rock through grates in the prince's bedroom, causing a spectacular flooding.
That's the highest level of the pumps, and they're entirely magma-safe, so I didn't see any issue with having a little overflow into the nearby passages.

Is there a reason why a bunch of the pumps on Z=115 aren't properly sealed?
