Aquifers produce water at their mined-out edges, not in their open space. By digging a fractal shape with huge edge area, one can achieve frightening rates of flow.
Too bad I couldn't channel out all of that, so ALL the generated aquifer water falls and generates pressure. Well, maybe in winter...
