When a ramp is constructed under a floor and then the floor is removed, a ramp with an "upward" part but no "downward" part is created. This means that things can go up it but not down.

This definitely helps traffic flow in my fort. two one-way halls leading to the Trade depot creates a continuous circuit that results in zero collisions.
