This me collapsing about 13 z-levels of mountain to see what happens. In the end I get a split down the middle mountain and one z-level completely exposed.

Next time, you should dig out all the levels, and collapse it then.
I was thinking about doing that in another fort of mine, when I get around to it I'll post the movie here.
