My first volcano fortress in *.18.
This site is nearly treeless, has a salt water aquifer, and is home to a bunch of thieving buzzards.
Home sweet home.
My first thought on embarking here was, "What an ugly magma pipe. That's the first thing that's got to go. DRAIN THE PIPE!!!"
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to
report a problem
with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

You can download the compressed map file:
2010-12/clsfdkidd-Bonetin-region2-251-29995.fdf-map
but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

You could have the towers lean in on each other at weird angles and converge akwardly...

Each tower is a burrow, with self-contained populaces and utilities. That's why each tower has it's own set of wells. The roofs will be booze holds, keeping the dwarfs in the sun.

The have them merge without intereor access between them, and remember (most) good forts have pointless corckscrews in the name ofawsome

Booze in the Roof, what a nice idea!
