Keychanneled, 4 years later. Magma forge p (albeit 70 z-levels DOWN). Storage mostly completed, major rooms in place. Survived a double invasion last year, including demon and dragon, with no defenses beyond good ol' dorfs and cage traps.
Front doors are now made of gold; depot has been raised up to the plateau. Not that its 26 pages of hauling tasks are anywhere nearing completion. - Q.T.Quazar

Holy sweet. That is a wicked design.
It made me think of something you'd see in Lord of the Rings, in the sheer size of it.

Thank you! I always felt... what's the point of hollowing out a mountain if you're going to live in a cramped 3x1? :) I always have LOTR in the back of my mind when I'm designing, to the point of aimlessly building bridges over chasms in earlier forts. ;) Circles are a real headache to layout in DF2 though.
