Keychanneled - 254 Early Winter by Q.T.Quazar

Map Description:

Wanted to see how big I could make the circles. Not a great idea. Some areas, like the hospital, are too large to fully zone, and I don't know the effect of double zoning. Wood efficiency is also horrible, but it's a fun fort to play, defenseless as it is.

Point of Interest: Front Gate

The dual barracks funnel out easily enough. Next up: archery range/barracks over this area, connected with a boltmaker/refuse heap at the top level. - Q.T.Quazar

Holy sweet. That is a wicked design.

It made me think of something you'd see in Lord of the Rings, in the sheer size of it.

Thank you! I always felt... what's the point of hollowing out a mountain if you're going to live in a cramped 3x1? :) I always have LOTR in the back of my mind when I'm designing, to the point of aimlessly building bridges over chasms in earlier forts. ;) Circles are a real headache to layout in DF2 though.

You can download the compressed map file: 2010-10/qtquazar-Keychanneled-region2-254-30982.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
