Boataxe - 1056 Mid Winter by Ryan Hadley

Map Description:

My first success with pumping the magma sea! I have a magma pit on my workshop level, a magma moat around the perimeter. And best of all, a magma trap: death from above - just outside my back entrance.

Point of Interest: Magma Moat near smooth gold bridge.

This is the main part of my magma trap. The Golden bridge retracts and the two mudstone bridges raise to form walls. Trapping all goblins in the "Magma bin". - Ryan Hadley

Δ 51. Magma Workshop
This is my magma pool for the workshop level. Two lessons learned here:

1. I needed a flood gate to stop the flow in to the pool. I had to install it post-magma flow. That was tricky, go up one level and you'll see where I used an above ground lake to create an obsidian plug so that I could safely add in a flood gate.
2. I should have used a pressure plate to raise the flood gate. I left it on while tending to something else and overflowed the pool. Hence the stray magma and the steam. :) - Ryan Hadley
Δ 38. Power Generator
I used the perpetual motion exploit after my efforts with windmills failed so much. The pump pumps water from the cavern lake below to a platform that spills out the other corner. 1 level above I have a bunch of watermills. They create from 700-900 or so power usually. Gear connected to the pump is disengaged. - Ryan Hadley
