• 18. Noble Housing

  Each noble is assigned a three-room suite. First floor is office, second is dining room, and top is bedroom. High quality Gold Statues make sure that all rooms rate as "Grand.." or higher. - sirbobsalot

• 16. Trader's Office

  Office for the fortress trade liasion. Directly over the trade depot for convenience. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Chasm Catwalk

  In previous games I used retractable bridges here, but got too lazy for that this time. The entrance into the fort is actually over the roof of the tunnels below, linking the barracks to the northern pillbox (for marksdwarves and siege) and west catacombs. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Great Hall

  The main floor and meeting area for the fortress. A vaulted ceiling extends three levels up, with balcony walkways for the additional levels.
  
  The central courtyard has high quality Gold Statues, animal cages for the fortress excess animal population, and the two fresh-water wells.
  
  Each level contains 80 apartments with standard furnishings. Nothing too fancy there. Three levels are dedicated to regular housing, for a total of 240 rooms; should be plenty for a population cap of 200, even with crazy dwarf breeding. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Master Control Room

  This room houses all the levers that control defenses, water flow control, and general stuff of that nature. Located right off the main hall, in order to be close to any idle dwarves. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Refuse Tower 1

  General refuse / bone storage. Additional levels are added as more space is required. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Statues of the Founders

  Masterwork Platinum Statues of the original seven founders of Tempestgate. - sirbobsalot

• 15. Trade Depot / Entrance

  The main entrance. Everything west of the pair of double-doors is isolated from the rest of the fort, so I can leave the gate open for intruders without too badly endangering the rest of the population. - sirbobsalot

• 14. Barracks

  Military training and poor dwarf housing. I keep rent turned off, so thankfully most of the beds are going unoccupied. - sirbobsalot

• 14. Food Preparation 1

  Farms and processing workshops that manage most of the fortress food supply. The potential farm output between the north and south fields is enough to far outstrip any ability to store it all, so only a couple of fields are switched on each season. - sirbobsalot

• 14. Food Storage 1

  Raw materials, like harvested plants and raw meat. Some stuff is kept on hand for the poor dwarves to eat, but generally everything else is turned into booze or lavish meals. - sirbobsalot

  Booze and prepared meals. Located just below the main hall for convenience. - sirbobsalot

• 14. Old Fort

  The original temporary fort before the dwarves moved into nicer digs. Was mined into soil so farming could start right off the bat.
  
  The miners dug from here into the fortress proper, and farming operations continued until the water system was set up for stone irrigation. Once the main entrance over the pit was completed, this section was bricked up and hasn't been used since. - sirbobsalot

• 14. Underground River 1

  ( 207 Early Spring to onwards )
  The underground river comes in on the very edge of the map and cuts across the corner before diving straight down again. This level was diverted to provide fresh water for power, drinking, and creating the muddied tiles needed for farming. - sirbobsalot

• 11. Lava Level

  ( 207 Early Spring to onwards )
  Magma channels to power the workshops on the level above. There's an elevation drop between the supply and the channels, so even a serious drop in the magma tube level (as with a crazy megaproject) won't unpower the fortress metal industry. - sirbobsalot
