A sun-yellow balcony (outdoor party zone for my dwarfs)
Rooms with homey wooden furniture for the hUmies, (my mayor's apartments for the moment)

and a stable for traders' animals (just for show)

I've got a bit of an animal overpopulation problem. This keeps the stink out of the butchershop.

I'm surprised how many animals live through that drop. They get killed by the rockfall traps as they crawl their broken bodies back up though... - Chromie

I got a siege just as soon as I hit the blue stuff.

Thanks to the towers I'm building there was a smallllll access inside, and my military were all off having a drink.

Oh well, the population always needs culling... I didn't loose any engravers or metalworkers.

The blue stuff -- thanks to cheating, I know the pits are one level down and a bit to the left.

The owner goes in there and works the lever, but the cat is off killing lizards or something... I'm too impatient I guess.

Also, the King's dining room is smaller than any other room because it'll be plane-packed with artifacts. - Chromie

most-if-not-all engravings are masterful or threebars. There are some very nice statues in here, and the first mist machine I've ever made.

The artifact statue is being moved to the King's chambers, since we've hit the blue stuff.

The weird little hole is a channeled pit topped by an artifact hatch, in the King's dining room above. It's engraved with pictures of goblins biting the big one.

Δ 18. Farms!
A mod makes it much less easy-peasy to farm, by increasing growth times and reducing stack size. It takes about double the space to produce the usual amount of food.

I produce dimple dye, sweet pod, cave wheat and longland grass usually, but I'm also filling up a stockpile with quarry bush leaves for traders' animals... Imported booze (for the extra barrels) breaks up the rum monotony. I export sugar and flour.

the stockpiles a bit above are (from bottom to top) raw materials no barrels, prepared meals no barrels and mill barrels in the NE quadrant, and booze nearest the dining hall.

A soap industry was started, but I just need the wood for beds. - Chromie

The symbol of the government is two goblets.

Dunno what I'm gonna put in that inner chamber yet. Maybe a tame megabeast, when I get one.

also nobles' rooms, Queenconsort's plainer rooms.

The symbol of the civ is a 5-pointed star, this was what I came up with.

Dunno who that upstart peasant is using the bed...

Any ideas about placing a bed in a HUEG room? I know if I was sleeping in the middle of a warehouse I'd be creeped out... - Chromie

What an ugly desert.

I captured a jaguar in my cage traps though, so I can't complain too much. - Chromie
Δ 13. POWEERRR.
The aquifer water from the south side of the map drains one level below off the bottom of the map (carved fortifications) and powers a bunch of waterwheels. Two pumps were needed to get it there in a timely manner the first time, but I bet I could deconstruct at least one (logs om nom nom)

Grates are just something for my masons and stone to be busy doing. - Chromie
