The pyramid is now filled with magma, and I've taken the liberty of decorating the front with an appropriate image. Satisfied that my monument was complete, I summoned the king in Autumn 57, and he arrived in Spring 58, complete with his queen (who apparently used to be a Guard), 4 axe lord royal guards, and his Advisor (my former Liaison).
I also decided that I would drain the underground river again and pave the rest of it with obsidian blocks, hoping that it will encourage even denser tower-cap growth.
Now that Wasprag has been promoted to Mountainhome, I ordered my miners to locate and begin excavating the deposits of Raw Adamantine. Having prospected the site before embarking, I know exactly what awaits me - nevertheless, I shall press forward.
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to
report a problem
with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

You can download the compressed map file:

but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

Holy crap thats cool. How are you gonna get all that magma there? construct a big pumping tower?
Submitted by: Quietust - 2009-09-15 to 46 Early Spring
I'll build a pump tower extending all the way to the top of the map, then direct its output into a tube that goes down to ground level, through a short tunnel, and into an opening at the bottom of the pyramid. Pump pressure should allow it to fill all the way to the top.

That's a fantastic fortress. Do the fortifications in the tower cap farm actually drain water?
Submitted by: Quietust - 2009-09-28 to 59 Early Winter
Absolutely - in fact, that's exactly why I built them.
