So what's the project here, I am liking the look.

as a solution, would it work to pump water from one level up?

It's gonna be something like a skyscraper cluster. :) Mostly it's been a trial-and-error learn about obsidian cooling project so far.

And yeah, pumping from one level up worked pretty well.

Δ 26. wonky magma tile :(
Oops it's got a ramp designation on it.

The body of the tile says "damp rough-hewn obsidian wall" but one z-level up it says "open space". Miners won't path to it or dig it out (whether designated ramp or channel) and I can't pump water obvs until it's out. Q_Q - Chromie
