Early autumn resulted in the posession of a craftsdwarf. He claimed a leatherworkers, took a few hides, and is now demanding turtle shell. Unfortunately, we cooked all of ours so we have to wait for the fisherdwarves.
We have decided to progress to the lava to speed up the glass production.
By Mid-Autumn we reached the magma, thankfully our careful miners didn't cause a flood. Now we need to find Iron so we can create Steel and set up a magma glass furnace.
The caravan came and went with barely anything of interest, some cheese and meats but nothing noteworthy.
The craftsdwarf sadly went insane, then berzerk, then dead, although shortly afterwards the broker ended his mandate.
Marginally into Late Autumn we located some Iron Ore (thankfully) and have started construction of a magma smelter and glass furnace.
Due to a spoon up in history, this part was replayed from mid-autumn.
The craftsdwarf just went insane this time.
The broker mandated 3 obsidian items, he is being ignored as an annoying fantasist.
He later revised his mandate to a single obsidian item. We might consider this.

( 1055 Early Summer to 1055 Early Winter )
Due to the influx of miners, we have started construction of a new project.
Note: I re-created the spare glass workshop to help this because it enables the gathering of sand at twice speed, and means glass production can continue.
Also note: I have 3 jet 1x1 bridges to cover the chasm area. This is just a safety precaution because my dwarves seem to love getting wet.

Crop planting has started, and the installation of the green glass floodgates (which look way cooler than regular floodgates) has been finished. Final touches to the walls are being performed by the miner right now. - matryx

Engraved each year by a dedicated historian, these rooms will progress into the mountain as the fortress ages.
1053's showed images of squares, dwarves travelling, dwarves labouring, and several pictures of stars.
1054's showed dwarves talking, walking, travelling and one image of a dwarf withering away.
Also oddly was an image of a dwarf embracing two goblins...?? And the yearly submissive demon image. - matryx

Saving the wood now for steel production (for aqueducts) and Ash production (for other glass types) - we have produced a few magma workshops.
Also - it means we can compact the space required by those ore clusters sat around the fortress. - matryx

More glass blocks than I expected went into the production of this. - matryx

It seems fitting somehow that the dwarves should be remembered near the history they worked so diligently to create. Alcoves leading off from the History Rooms lead to the tombs. - matryx
