A Fortress in a scorching hot world. Many items will spontaneously burst into flames if exposed to the surface. The dwarves live down in the cooler underground, and surface exposure must be brief, or they will suffer burns and internal injuries from the merciless sun.
( 52 Early Summer → onwards )
This is the human caravan, or what's left of it. The merchants unwisely brought supplies which were flammable, and the wagons, and themselves were destroyed by it. Even the ones that didn't catch on fire seem to have perished by the fires started by those who did.
Once the fires die down, whatever survived, probably only metal and bone, should be able to be collected, but we'll have to be careful, that's a long distance to run under the hot sun. The humans may not be happy at the loss of their caravan, but if they intend to send a siege, it will probably suffer the same fate, this is not a hospitable land for those who are not prepared. - Soralin
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to

Neat! I would like to know what you changed to get the superhot surface. Have you considered a long tunnel to the edge of the map, ending in ramps to let the caravan get underground instantly? That might let them get to your depot without everyone dying.

When creating the world I just set the maximum temperature to 1000, and found a scorching spot in it hot enough that the other civilizations were marked as "No Trade". Although they seem to send caravans anyway.
