You can see the beginning of the new magma channel in this update. Hopefully, this one won't take as long to complete.
I ran into a strange problem when I collapsed the old channel; the walls collapsed fine, and a few bridges did as well, but most bridges stayed up, floating on the water. Because of this I've launched a project of gradually deconstructing them.
