• Δ 14. Overflow stockpile
  The main food stockpile was using up all the barrels for food storage, when really the barrels were needed for booze. Solution: Unpack all the food! - Phlamethrower
• Δ 12. Ballistae
  We've been able to collect enough wood to build the full set of ballistae and some ammunition. Combine that with the wood we'll purchase this year and we should have almost a full set of ballista arrows available. - Phlamethrower
• 15. Fortress entrance

  A modest entrance for the fort. Although there are going to be some defences above ground, most of the defences are going to be below. - Phlamethrower

• ¶ 12. Metalsmith's workshop

  ( 305 Early Spring to onwards )
  Once a suitable amount of adamantine has been collected, one of the legendary metalsmiths will be selected and locked placed into this secluded area of the fort, where he'll be able to forge suits of adamantine armour for Keyhandle's troops. - Phlamethrower

• Δ 12. Second barracks

  With 45 dwarves in the military and fort/royal guard, the original barracks was starting to get a bit cramped. This larger barracks was therefore constructed to give the dwarves more room to breathe - although they still seem to favour the first barracks for sparring sessions. - Phlamethrower

• 14. Drawbridge

  ( 302 Early Spring to onwards )
  This was the first line of defence constructed for the fort. After carving out the initial room the ramp leading to the surface was deconstructed, to protect the dwarves from attack by fire imps. Only after this bridge was constructed were the ramps rebuilt and the dwarves allowed outside again.
  
  When the magma forges were constructed later in the year, the magma channel feeding the forges was extended to reach the pit under the drawbridge, to more effectively dispose of any enemies that should fall in. - Phlamethrower

• 14. Well

  Fed by the nearby pool, this well should provde an adequate supply of water to any injured dwarves. The well shaft runs right to the bottom of the map, so there's plenty of room to build extra wells using the source of water. - Phlamethrower

• 13. Barracks

  ( 303 Early Spring to onwards )
  Now looking a lot more lively, and containing a few more levers to control the bridges and other traps scattered throughout the fort. - Phlamethrower

• 13. Likot Sazirerar's tomb

  ( 302 Early Spring to onwards )
  The tomb of the first dwarf to die. He arrived in the first migrant wave, and along with another peasant was set the task of starting the metalcrafting industry. Unfortunately the magma forges weren't designed with safety in mind, and one of the fire imps soon found its way into the workshop area. The imp was slain, but not before it could set fire to Likot. Likot burnt to death soon after, before he could reach the well to douse his flames.
  
  One of the butchers then decided it would be a good idea to butcher the imp's corpse and place the meat in the food stockpile. As a result, several barrels of food caught fire and their contents were lost. - Phlamethrower

• 12. Catapault training area

  This room shall be used to train the many siege operators required to man the many ballistae that will be stationed throughout the fort. Assuming we can find enough wood. - Phlamethrower

• 12. New defensive outpost

  ( 303 Early Spring to onwards )
  This whole area is being turned into a defensive outpost, ready to defend the upper levels against any creatures that should advance from the deep. The central room will have fortifications carved on all sides, allowing marksdwarves to shoot out. A series of bridges will prevent the demons from advancing to the upper levels of the fort. Another bridge, to be built over the pit to the east of the main room, will allow the dwarves to take a short cut during times of safety, saving valuable travel time. Finally the foritifed room to the north-east will house another set of ballistae. - Phlamethrower

• 10. The pit

  ( 304 Early Spring to onwards )
  In order to safely search for metal ores, it was decided that a series of bridges should be constructed over a central pit. As the miners dig deeper they deepen the pit, building a new bridge and nearby lever. This should provide adequate protection against all but flying monsters.
  
  If all else fails, there is also scope for pouring magma into the pit from the nearby magma channel. - Phlamethrower
