  A good soldier always perfects his skills, and dwarves are no exception... if drinking competitions were the pinnacle of the profession of arms, that is.
  Nonetheless, here the dwarves can be seen training, only taking a break on that glorious day when the goblins decide to invade. - Vetarnian1

  Here it is, the first line of defense against invaders... or rather, where it should be. Four squads on active duty, comprising more than 20 dwarves altogether, and how many show up? One guy.
  The rest can be seen boozing it up (or sleeping it off) at various points of the fortress. I was thinking of setting up a meeting with the leader of the Soldiers' Guild in my office, until I remembered that my office isn't even finished yet. Gotta talk to the Miners' Union about that. - Vetarnian1

  The key to the metal production of Brimswork, this vein of lignite is being excavated before being filled in with new rooms for my dwarves.
  Good thing I don't have an air quality inspector going around; when the walls are up, that will probably smell like a miniature industrial revolution in there. - Vetarnian1

  A typical example of Vetty's trademarked pit surrounded by fortifications, topped by floor grates. It's nifty, but does it work? Wish I knew.

  Some Elves were waylaid by an early Goblin ambush, somewhere around here. Two died, the rest scampered off. Pity, I really needed those wooden swords they're selling. - Vetarnian1
• Δ 15. The Pit
  Yep, right here is the key to the defense of Brimswork, a great big mass of empty, surrounded by fortifications. From this spot, I am expecting my dwarves to rain death upon my enemy. "Expecting" is the important word here, considering the dwarves' peculiar schedule with a few hours of soldiering thrown in between weeks of furlough. And why would they stick around, since there's no booze nearby? But who wants drunken crossbowdwarves anyway? And had there been alcohol nearby, I suspect that more than death would have been raining from those fortifications. - Vetarnian1
• Δ 13. The Bunker
  When all is lost, you can trap yourself in this room, which extends to the two floors above (ending in the lever rooms), and wait... and wait... and wait...
  When completed, it will be an entire complex which will include all amenities of modern dwarven life. Yes, including booze. - Vetarnian1
• Δ 11. A Modest Dining Room
  At the end of the day (without ever being sure, since, you know, we're underground), what is more pleasant than to grab a plump helmet and sit down to discuss the finest selection of topics, from dwarven philosophy to metallurgy.
  Only once, in the summer of 203, did the a remark cause a commotion and lead to a mass rush for the refuse pile: "You milk WHAT?" - Vetarnian1
