Daggerboot - 104 Early Spring by Nilus

Map Description:

Previously, I've been experimenting with large, open fortress designs but they're too much work and I realized I don't have the experience to run a large fortress. So I went back to basics, a simple fort that pleases the dwarves.
But that would just be boring so I've got a few projects planned. Two of which I don't think have been done before and one which I've already started.

Point of Interest: 1. Entrance.

It's meant to be a twisting corridor but it took too long for dwarves to go in and out so I opened it a bit.
This will be the site of one of my projects later on. - Nilus

I like how you built the map so spacious and on the same level too.
I never have the patience to wait for my dwarfs to create large halls, so I think this is pretty neat :)

How are the travel times, though?

The fortress looks larger then it is due to my 16x16 tileset, haul times are quite low and everything is close so it's quite an efficient fort.

Woaaah... if you move forward a spot to see the red eyes it looks incredibly scary. Fantastic.

I've reached the limit on what I can do with this fortress, there's just not enough space and it's becoming more and more of a mess.

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-05/nilus-Daggerboot-region1-104-1161.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
