Wow, this fortress should be epic eventually, assumign you dont die (yet again). How did you get carp in an ocean though? I always embark on oceans but never get anything at all, even on terrifying maps.

It's a freshwater lake. At least most of the carps are in that small pond, maybe all of them. Other fish have killed my dwarves too, or at least made them fall from the smaller bridge (which I've dismantled now)

Δ 21. Operation No witnesses
I've improved this place to maximize the lethality of my defence. By raising the bridges I can force invaders to take a longer route (to buy time) and cause fleeing enemies to have to take the path through those cage traps.

I already managed to COMPLETELY eliminate a three group invasion. I got a total of 35 prisoners and the rest were killed. - Retales
Δ 20. Blood, limbs and corpses
This is where my greatest military victory EVER took place. This spot, west of the bridge, is actually filled with dozens of corpses and the severed limbs of those corpses.

Originally I just meant to send my military to kill the two first groups (out of 4) of invaders and then retreat back to the fort. However, the goblins moved fast and chasing the fleeing goblins drove my soldiers far away from the fort.

After the two first groups were routed, the rest had already cut the soldiers off from the fort. There was just one thing to do, charge at the dangerous elite bowmen. And so the brave dwarves did and with great success. Not a single dwarf was wounded in this whole incident. - Retales

I'd really love some magma, but I don't think theres any in this location - Retales
Δ Catapult range
I have a two level drop to 'insert' prisoners into the rightmost part of the range, allowing my catapults to shoot at them.

However, it seems that the catapults can't hit the goblins at all. I've been firing for YEARS, I've a legendary siege operator and a few more almost as skilled and they haven't hit the goblins even once. Almost always the shot ends up in a tile where there's a goblin, but it still won't hit them.

The catapults are made of + and * parts. Comments if they SHOULD be able to hit? - Retales
