Wadedcastles v2 - 203 Early Spring by FunkyWaltDogg

Map Description:

When searching for a site I was careful to select an area with high rainfall to ensure I'd have plenty of trees. This area seems to have nearly the maximum possible amount of precipitation; rain is nearly continuous, with only the occasional pause for a minute or so.

As a result, my moat is filling up without any action on my part, due to the fact that it runs through a few ponds. It's not a huge problem, as the design I have in mind will eventually include bridges that cover the moat so I'll have control over the water level at that point.

Point of Interest: Aquifer penetration

I pierced two layers of aquifer here using the cave-in method. Unfortunately, it took me all spring and summer, with very little time for anything else, so I had no trade goods to make purchases from the first caravan. - FunkyWaltDogg

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

I didn't see the point in digging out a lot of area underground to pack stockpiles and workshops into since I'm ultimately going to be constructing buildings on the surface to house all that stuff. So for now, everything pretty much just gets plopped down wherever I've got a space.

Really nice layout and a great seed to have magma so close to the surface. I can't figure out how you get the water up the main building with the housing though. I don't see a pumpstack but I do see pumps at the top.

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-04/funkywaltdogg-Wadedcastles the Gre-region6-203-0.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
