• ¶ 20. Main entrance
  This is the entrance to the new fort, but so far it's entirely unsecured except for three rows of stonefall traps on the next level down. I've gotten my magma metal industries set up, though, so weapon traps should be going online pretty soon. - FunkyWaltDogg
• Δ 20. Starting outpost
  I've begun moving my operations out of my initial base. Farming and all food processing (formerly in the basement) is done. The next priority is stored food and the dining area, then workshops. Bedrooms will probably be the last to go. - FunkyWaltDogg
• 19. Farming area

  ( 288 Mid Spring to 288 Late Winter )
  The room on the left draws water from the well through a twelve pump stack. On the left are the switches for the floodgates under the ponds, for the pump that fills the well, and for the pump stack; on the right is the switch for the hatch that drains the farm (it covers the down ramp tile next to the walled outdoors area) and the switch for the floodgates to the water holding room. Seed storage will be in the room next to the stairs, and food storage and workshops will be on the next two levels down. - FunkyWaltDogg

• 19. Water supply

  ( 288 to onwards )
  This map supposedly has an underground pool or river, but I've been unable to locate it (you can see my exploratory digging north of the bottomless pit). Fortunately, this area has extremely high rainfall, and I have several nice big ponds to collect it in. - FunkyWaltDogg

• Δ 18. Food processing
  Every food workshop which could conceivably produce rotting materials is in this area, which is open to the air. I still need to finish the walls two levels up so that no one can shoot in from above.
  You can see the future location of the barracks (the detailed room) in this image as well. The trade depot will be just to the west of that. - FunkyWaltDogg
• Δ 17. A slight water issue
  I've managed to keep the fort proper dry, but I haven't yet solved the problem of water rising up through the well pump's axle shaft. It's not really a big deal since water only enters the area when I open the pond floodgates, but I like to keep things tidy. I poked a hole in the hill to let this area drain, and I plan to put a grate over it (which will have to wait a bit as there's still water coming in from below). I unfortunately can't think of any way to solve the problem of water in the machines, but I can put in a door and at least keep excess water out of the well access stairwell. - FunkyWaltDogg
• Δ 16. Dining room
  There aren't any tables yet, but at least the detailing is nearly complete. Like the workshops (and the bedrooms, on the next four levels down) this design is copied from my last fort. - FunkyWaltDogg
• Δ 11. Workshop area
  Metal works are here. Masonry and carpentry are on the next level up, with crafts to go on the level above that. This layout is copied directly from my previous fort since it seemed to work well there. - FunkyWaltDogg
