My Dining Room and my Reception Area got smoothed! I really like this map. I don't think I've ever been this excited over how things are shaping up.
I haven't expanded the bedrooms like I should have, because I've been paying attention to the massive mining project above. I've started channeling down the ceiling for the open-air plaza, and it's taking a LONG time. I've only carved off two z-levels, and I still have 5 to go.
BTW, this is giving me WAY too much rock. I have no idea what to do with all the crud lying around, and it's stopping me from making any sensible stockpiles. OTOH, it IS powerleveling my Mason. Soon I'll make those Native Platinum Statues...

The Vaults are going to be filled with goods, and then sealed up so that even a kobold won't be able to steal the wealth. I believe the correct word is "hoard". Yes, we will hoard the wealth of Angelbane, and let our enemies drool. - ClsfdKidd

Good luck! You should add some points of interest to let us know what your forts up to.

Tombs, you mean, TREE FARM?
Are you going to seal the hoard with magma?
Submitted by: ClsfdKidd - 2009-03-30 to 236 Mid Winter
Well, I know for sure that I need a tree farm. The Giant Bat incident really was a kick in the seat. I'm thinking that I'll make some sort of indoor room with the natural waterfall in the center, then maybe use pumps to make a really big, curvy, natural-looking cavern and irrigate the tower-caps into it. Some fishing spots would be nice, too.
As far as sealing the hoard with magma, WHOA Markavian, that's an awesome idea. That's makin' my brain go 'round. I'll have to think on all the engineering aspects for a bit. I certainly don't want to burn my artifacts, cause THAT would suck.

A GCS killed by a kobold? HAHAHAHAHA.

WELL! My GCS is precious to me. I may never get another one even after years of playing DF. So I just want to be careful.
BTW, does this mean I could basically let him roam free killing critters and spewing silk? Cause if he's not gonna die, I might do that.

Love the layout, especially the tendency to avoid square or ugly rectangular rooms.

I love the tileset you're using. It's very squiggly.

Nice. I like the way all the bedrooms are "lighted" via fortifications.
