Angelbane - 235 Mid Spring by ClsfdKidd

Map Description:

Well, I went for it. :O

I'm going to begin the slow retreat from the original fortress into the newly carved and unfurnished project.

I still need to design the magma+glass forges and the waterfalls. And I have no idea where to put the tombs. As far as the nobles go, I think I have them figured out.

I'd like to get the moats filled ASAP, but I need to make sure I don't slip up and accidentally flood Angelbane with EITHER magma or water.

Good luck! You should add some points of interest to let us know what your forts up to.

Tombs, you mean, TREE FARM?
Are you going to seal the hoard with magma?

Well, I know for sure that I need a tree farm. The Giant Bat incident really was a kick in the seat. I'm thinking that I'll make some sort of indoor room with the natural waterfall in the center, then maybe use pumps to make a really big, curvy, natural-looking cavern and irrigate the tower-caps into it. Some fishing spots would be nice, too.

As far as sealing the hoard with magma, WHOA Markavian, that's an awesome idea. That's makin' my brain go 'round. I'll have to think on all the engineering aspects for a bit. I certainly don't want to burn my artifacts, cause THAT would suck.

A GCS killed by a kobold? HAHAHAHAHA.

WELL! My GCS is precious to me. I may never get another one even after years of playing DF. So I just want to be careful.

BTW, does this mean I could basically let him roam free killing critters and spewing silk? Cause if he's not gonna die, I might do that.

Love the layout, especially the tendency to avoid square or ugly rectangular rooms.

I love the tileset you're using. It's very squiggly.

Nice. I like the way all the bedrooms are "lighted" via fortifications.

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-03/clsfdkidd-Angelbane-region1-235-5660.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
