Gearmanors the City of Stone - 111 Early Spring by xpCynic

Map Description:

Things are beginning to go a bit more smoothly now. If the year went well, I could actually be in for some nobility. Keep in mind that I've never gotten anything beyond a mayor or dungeon master.

Point of Interest: Operation "Just Melt the Little Jerks"

My dwarves certainly aren't creative when it comes to naming plans.
Anyway, I've become sick of the goblins coming in and ruining everything - I've already lost two caravans and a migrating party full of mechanics to them - so next time around I'll dump a vat of magma on the snivelly green bastards and teach them not to mess with the Carnal Razors. And if that doesn't work, I've got an ever-strengthening military as a backup. - xpCynic

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

Your layers sort of take the shape of an amoeba.

I love your idea of using gem windows to represent street torches. Very clever!

I like this idea, maybe i'll try a big cave after my underwater fort =D

Submitted by: Barbarossa - 2009-02-22 to 109 Early Spring

Started on third level as of this comment. One of the ambushing marksgoblins was walking around near my miner - possibly the tensest moment I've ever faced!

I like the "natural" shape of the place. Just noticing your purple cloud of miasma. You can sort your refuse so that the rotten stuff goes to a small, sealed room, and then have massive open-air storage of all the bones. The rotten stuff clears out pretty fast, and the miasma always stays away from the populace.

Submitted by: Barbarossa - 2009-02-25 to 111 Early Spring

remember- miasma cannot move diagonally!

Lookin' Good so far... This'll be epic once the floors are gone and the roofscrapers are left to stand alone =D

Can't wait to see the new front gate.

Nice gate!!!

if you need progress to go faster, just change your dwarves' speed to 1 in the raw files.

They'll still need to eat and drink and sleep, but hauling and building goes a jillion times faster.

Oh wow... you hollowed out all that space inside the mountain and then built upwards. Monumental work.

Very, very cool. I especially like the Capitol building, the castle of nobility and the central square. Might just have to steal one or two of ze ideas for my latest fortress :p
