Chamberdawn - 205 Early Spring by ScottH

Map Description:

End of the fourth year.. Well all in all its been the most exciting, we had our first large ambush, we go the well system finally finished, glass production is set up fully inside, housing is done just walling it up now.

Stats. 28 dwarves, 2 marksdwarves, 2 swordmasters. 48 war dogs and 27 dogs. 1 giant jaguar and 1 ground hog.

Point of Interest: Golden Bridge

This is the finished golden bridge, now also retractable if you look in the control room you will see levers color coded to the bridges. - ScottH

Thanks sneakeypete but I have already thought of that, I decided the massive collapsing way is more fun and just seems quicker.

cool fort, I don't know why you have a huge hole around your tower but its a varied fort with lots of interesting ccorners to explore.

Thanks guys. That hole will go to the bottom eventually and be filled with magma! Once I have everything done in this fort Ill collapse it and yes magic dwarf I will definitely record it, Ill also record it when I do the collapse to remove the floors in the hole. I'm sure something entertaining will happen..

Δ 30. Control Room (Some Control)
We have a control room and it controls most fortress abilities. The levers are mostly color coded, except the one for the pump system since we have no blue rock. The yellow ones are for the golden bridges, the red is to the magma pump, the white is the water pump, and those two black ones go to the garbage dump, which is utterly useless until we get magma under it. - ScottH
Δ 24. First Bedroom Floor (Complete)
This floor has finally been finished. Each dwarf in the future along with the normal furnishings of their rooms will also get a GCS silk carpet. - ScottH
Δ 23. Dining Room (Complete)
The royal dining room is finished. Green glass tables and thrones with giant cave spider silk carpeting dyed midnight blue and encrusted with gems. The dwarves of ChamberDawn have the choice of eating in the enclosed dining rooms or the open air dining rooms, the southern room overlooks the golden bridges and the power system. - ScottH
17. Power

( 204 Early Spring to 205 Early Spring )
The axles heading west are for the magma pump(look for poi to explain) and the ones heading east are for the water pump(look for poi to explain). The next z level up holds the wind farm which is currently in expansion. This entire system will be on pillars to prevent anything from getting at them, I hope one day to have this fort self sustainable. For that to happen we will need fresh water and magma access. - ScottH
Δ 16. Dogs!
Here we have most of the dogs of our fortress. Ive noticed the dogs follow the trainer around so everyone is taking a turn training them. Ive also assigned dogs to valuable dwarves, it helps. The last siege I found that the dogs on this level ran onto the bridge to stop the gobbos that got past the sword dwarves. - ScottH

Δ 6. OH SHIT FIRE!
Well I was going to do a poi on the magma pump system but turns out when I was making the magma moat I let the magma down the power shaft.. Ill have to flood that shaft with water quick or else I'm going to lose the fort to magma.. I know magma has no pressure, but I gave it pressure so I didn't need a pump in the tower to get the magma into the magma holding floor. So when that pump goes I predict the entire tower is going to flood with the red death. Time to put some hatch covers in place and start working on getting that magma outta there. - ScottH
Δ 5. Water Pump (Complete)
Ive finished many projects in this fort, this one gave me the most trouble, I almost flooded my fort twice while building this thing. Its much easier then you think.. Forgetting to turn the pump off or forgetting to put the door back were the main causes. Either way its done and my dwarves now have somewhere to drink safely. - ScottH
Δ Flooding Adverted
Apparently I forgot to place the door back on my well system, after I did some remodeling. It flooded half this level before I noticed it. Either way the well system is fixed and working again. As you can see the level is dry once again and stuff is back to normal. - ScottH
Δ Mausoleum
The entire left side is filled and half the right. I had this place fully engraved after the last ambush. The walls are covered with engravings of gobbos being struck down by many things, bears, dogs, wolves, dwarves. I will be expanding my burial area soon enough.. - ScottH
