Fountaintheater - 237 Early Autumn by Unbeltedsundew

Map Description:

In the year 37! Possibly one of my longest running fort ever, about 3/8ths to half of my plans are completed. My military is godly, each soldier, by themselves can pretty much stop a goblin seige of four or five squads. I know this because this has happened (dwarfs are too dumb to move en mass, and half the squad shows up later scratching their heads wondering what all the blood is about). Im really happy with this fortress so far, evn though it was a random fort made more with the name in mind then anything else (the name was the first random thing that came up).

Ive got a hell of a lot of artifacts that I dont know what to do with, they probably make up a least 1 mil in wealth, the other million being 500,000 in architecture and 500,000 in furniture and clothing.

97 Dwarfs, 18 champs, 113 animals.

Point of Interest: VIP entrance

Still not ready to connect yet but its mostly set up.

Well gaurded by seige opperators and ballistae, they should never be too far onse I install them in their bedrooms there. They can train right close by as well. - Unbeltedsundew

Nice fort.
Which tile set is that?

Thank you.

Its my own tile set that I'm working on to fill my hankering for a high resolution set, which doesn't bother me and still relates back to the original in acceptable ways, and in which I dont have to replace accents, and that isn't as ugly as hell. Its 20x20 but not ready for release yet.

The tileset is nice, though a bit hard for me to decipher. Are those workshops above the magma?

Sorry to hear about the rotten luck this year. Losing so many dwarves would have broken me, I am sure.

Yeah, the set is far enough away from the original that it takes some getting used to, the floors and the wall pillars the "O" ones are hard to seperate visualy. Also, while the fancy floors are nice they are also fairly dominant.

There are three magma smelters to the left and three magma forges to the right.

Nice tileset, especially the barrels ^_^

Nice looking fort as well, shame about the towercaps though. The library is a nice idea, though I can't help but think it will generate pointless 'check chest' jobs (Unless those are just containers and not cabinets).

The cat trap is a nice idea, and I remember seeing a similar one somewhere else, let me see if I can find it... Ah, here we go: http://mkv25.net/dfma/poi-7877

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-01/unbeltedsundew-Fountaintheater-region3-237-21691.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
