Chamberdawn - 204 Early Spring by ScottH

Map Description:

Enter the fourth year of Chamberdawn! After writing that sentence I now notice this fort does not suit that name.. haha well to bad!

The fort now has 34 dwarfs. 0 losses. 8 dead gobbos. Our military is 2 marksdwarves, 2 sword champions, 4 sworddwarves.

I am very pleased with the speed at which things are going. Follow the points of interests for the happenings of the year past.

The first section of bridge has finally been installed!, just another year to go and we will have the 3 remaining gold bars we need to finish it. - ScottH

Thanks sneakeypete but I have already thought of that, I decided the massive collapsing way is more fun and just seems quicker.

cool fort, I don't know why you have a huge hole around your tower but its a varied fort with lots of interesting ccorners to explore.

Thanks guys. That hole will go to the bottom eventually and be filled with magma! Once I have everything done in this fort Ill collapse it and yes magic dwarf I will definitely record it, Ill also record it when I do the collapse to remove the floors in the hole. I'm sure something entertaining will happen..

Δ 31. Archery Range
Yes this is the roof of the tower. If these marksdwarves want to learn how to shoot a bolt like a dwarf they better learn in the worst damn wind they will ever see! - ScottH
Δ 30. Control Room (No Control Yet)
This is the control room. Its the highest enclosed floor in the tower. It will house levers to control the liquids, garbage disposal, siege defenses, emergency plan (DTF), among other things. - ScottH
Δ 24. First Bedroom Floor (UnderConstruction)
This is the first of the six floors which will house the dwarves of ChamberDawn. Each floor will hold six dwarves. The current ones you see under construction will hold the swordsdwarves, since they are closest to entrance. As you go up the more important dwarves will be housed. - ScottH
Δ 23. Dining Room (UnderConstruction)
The dinning floor will consist of 4 rooms. Two with open air, and two enclosed. They will be decorated with blue giant cave spider sick rugs(ropes). - ScottH
Δ 18. Barracks
It is the first floor above the depot. The barracks is defined from our first artifact. A rhyolite weapon rack. This is where our swordsdwarves train. - ScottH
Δ 17. Giant Jaguar
Yes this is a giant jaguar. I bought the thing off the elves, for some reason its entire nervous system is bruised. I guess that might have happened if it ventured into a freezing biome. Either way I forgot to rope it up earlier and it ripped a kobold to shreds :) Its now on display in my trade room. I hope to hook its chain up to a lever in case some gobbos get inside. - ScottH

( 204 Early Spring to 205 Early Spring )
The axles heading west are for the magma pump(look for poi to explain) and the ones heading east are for the water pump(look for poi to explain). The next z level up holds the wind farm which is currently in expansion. This entire system will be on pillars to prevent anything from getting at them, I hope one day to have this fort self sustainable. For that to happen we will need fresh water and magma access. - ScottH

Δ 10. More Digging
Our multi-multi-legendary miner is now averaging 2 levels per year. So with 10 more to go that's 5 years.. hmm thats longer then I want. I think Ill grab a dwarf who's doing nothing and give him a pick. Damn wait I got to make him a pick to.. Wheres the weaponsmith! - ScottH
Δ 6. Magma Pump
This is where the magma pump will be going. I know pumping magma gives pressure to it and thats exactly what I need. See, the problem is the tower is very small and compact so I cant have pumps hanging out all over taking up room. I decided Ill use a shaft and have the magma push itself up the tower to the magma tank for my forges. - ScottH
Δ 4. Water Pump
This pump just needs power to it. Then it will fill the spill way and send what to my solid platinum fountain. The retracted bridge in the north end of the spill way is to atom smash water so it will be replace with fresh water every so often also Ill have the ability to drain the water from spillway. - ScottH
