Ritemachine - 214 Early Spring by Unbeltedsundew

Map Description:

Four years later. I got lucky with my exploritory shaft and ran almost central right into the side of the magma pipe. The zombie carp, while being a concern were no where near as destructive as all the very dangerous zombie camels (who became named disturbingly fast).

Could turn out to be an awesome fort, good prospecting on the magma pipe, makes a royal entrance way.

Well unfortunately, this fortress was destroyed... twice. First time after having moved my depot over the lava pipe (where the food stores are in 214)) and building a three wide walk way for the wagons to reach it I discovered that when wagons travel next to lava they ignite (so do the merchants around them). As I was dealing with the ensueing chaotic fire, a goblin raiding party showed up, and proceeded to tear my paltry defenses to pieces (marksmen goblins) causeing at the same time a tantrum sprial (this fort is very prone to spirals for some reason... maybe tempature has an effect?).

After I reclaimed, the second failure was caused by the camels killing a couple of dwarfs and an ensueing tantrum spiral that could have been avioded if another goblin raid hadn't showen up and helped it along (I allways put building defenses off, even though I resolved to be prepared this second time around >_> ). A metalsmith/axman finaly lost it at the end and killed all the other dwarfs (includeing the reclaim expidition leader). When I visted as an adventurer later he is basicaly a monster who challenges people (he killed all three adventurers I sent after him).

I'm building another fort in this world before I come back to this awsome site. But it really is too good to give up on just yet. (There is such an awful mess of stuff outside it just gets tedious to clean it all up)
