There comes a time in a dwarf's life when, tired with mere survival, they begin to aspire to something... greater.
In my case, starting with a ridiculous-yet-viable glass castle. This is really the second serious attempt; the first, in the perfect location - a volcanic island with reasonably-close sand supplies - was foiled by the sudden and mostly-unexpected presence of undead angelsharks and undead sturgeons.
This is also a test of tilesets and charactersets. I don't know whether they look any better than the default ASCII, to be honest.
It doesn't look like much, but it is starting to take shape. Though the walls aren't entirely up yet, all it takes is withdrawing the bridge for safety, thanks to the channel dug around the castle. - Maisoul
