Stylesspark - 202 Early Spring by Banzayatc

Map Description:

Not really dwarven fortress. It was created with 'Human town' idea in mind, so I moded humans to make them playable. However, there is a slight problem with the town. Carps. So now I'm down to five people (two were killed by carps, and no migrants). Tell me, is there any hope for the fortress? Especially if I'm novice?
PS I also intend to make it a succession fortress. Is it worth it? Maybe the more experienced players would make something playable out of this mess))
PPS I also noticed the whole town is worth roughly 5000 monies.

if you are fighting carp, then you have already lost. those things are like elephants of the water.

I'm not fighting it right now. The fishes have taken their death toll in midspring and early autumn, and since then, nobody was lost, the carps are only interrupting half of the actions. I also requested some bolts and crossbows then talking to liason, and I hope to get some bows and arrows from the elves (finally! useful elven traders!). The soldiers will shoot the carp if I station them near the river, right?

Okay, so i decided to play that town by myself. I'll maybe add a succession on the DF forum later.

Nope, your soldiers will watch in amazement at how pretty the sun looks glimmering off of the carp's scales.

A soldier will only attack a carp if they are being attacked by it. No friends will team up and help out, lots of people will die.

I had a very bad experience with carp once. Cost me a lot of good dwarves... like an elite hammerer.

Soldiers will shoot carp if you set their squad to 'harass dangerous animals'. Also, I'm not sure if humans will equip bows, but I've not modded the game to play them in quite a while.
