Relicluster... I wanted to build this area a barony. A central mountain home with smaller hamlets littered about... but so far that's all for the future as I'm still building the mountain home.
There's a lot of stone still left all over the place but there's a really nice lake that I plan to put a fishing village near.
From here I'd say to read though the PoI if you're still interested.
This is the third iteration of the entrance.
It can be sealed by two layers of floodgates on either side allowing for it to fill with water and drown anything should the need arise for it. I wanted to do it with magma, but I don't have any/can't import bauxite to make mechanisms out of. To the south is the reservoir to this flood chamber.
There's also a little waterfall just out front with a pool that drains into the pit. - Dakira
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to
report a problem
with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

You can download the compressed map file:

but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

Holy. Carp. This is one hell of a fort, in one hell of a start location.

thanks!
I LOVE this location. Pit, Chasm, Peak, Magma, Stream, wood, and there's even supposed to be Adamantine, but I think i'm mining in the wrong spot.
