The fort is progressing very slowly. A farming/sand gathering area has been dug out, pending farmers and glassmakers. A nice, underground wood storage facility has been created, and the dwarves are busy moving wood down.
We've had our first combat! A pack of rhesus macaques decided to raid our food storage area outside. The peasant has become a wrestler by strangling rhesus necks. The trader has been temporarily assigned as a butcher in order to take rhesus meat.
This is where the fight against the macaques occurred. You can see two unprocessed corpses, along with a lot of blood. - Yegg

Who was the death trap built for?

Once the deathtrap is complete (I still need to knock out the top floor and build the bridges), I will open up the gates up top and use it to take out sieges.
