I wasn't quite ready for a siege as my magma death chamber was only about a third of the way there. I wasn't ready at all for a HUMAN Siege. I guess they didn't like the gorillas killing their caravans (I got a wagon load of cow cheese one time which probably ended up rotten).
They came in four groups: Two swordsmen groups, a pikeman group with a Pike Lord, and a mace group with a Mace Lord.
I had 4 marksdwarfs, only one or two at an acceptable skill level and two legendary miners.
Rasing and lowering the bridges to my enterance were pretty useless. Cage Traps were pretty inconsistant and I had no Weapon Traps at the beginning of this.
19 total casulties, most of them from when the Mace group managed to waltz up my main cooridor ending in an epic battle on the tables of my Grand Dinning Room. Among these were the Mayor, the Captain of Guard, the Craftworkers Guild guy, and all my marksdwarfs.
Least now I won't have to make shields for a while.

Channels are so much better then doors. I usually go with channels just inside farm rooms and doors in their usual positions.
