Steelmaster - 134 Early Spring by metasynthetic

Map Description:

Much progress since the last update. First things first, there's an active siege going on during this snapshot. Or what's left of one, anyway. The fortifications are all fully in place and worked like a charm, none of the goblins made it past the second line of defense. The only loss on our side was a single recruit that just HAD to run out to grab some equipment or other as the goblins were charging in.

The military is well equipped, in addition to all the steel weaponry I have an armorsmith that is getting to be decently skilled. I have 13 full sets of steel chain and 10 of steel plate so far.

I ran out of coke and wood is finally running low, so for now steel production has ground to a halt. I still have 112 steel bars in reserve. The smelters continue to refine everything available.

Speaking of wood, the top level of the reservoir is complete. Before I can use it I need to excavate the level below, dig hatches, and hook up mechanisms though. The waterworks *still* isn't operational yet just because I keep thinking of adding things which require mechanisms to be hooked up from the wet side. Almost ready though.

The first crop of pump operators is reaching maturity, with several legends. I want to get them all to at least double legendary status before drafting. The most agile ones are nearing that.

A rose gold spear? Ooh, I'd kill for one of those! What was it called?

"Palacemountain". Relatively sensible, actually.

You learn something new every day, and today's something is "Boustrophedon". :) That's some serious metalworking setup you've got there.
