Swordshot - 211 Early Summer by Bill

Map Description:

Early Spring:

Spring has arrived in Swordshot. Although the taste of blood is still fresh in our mouths... we can live knowing that anything which decides to attack us will meet a certain fate. Our marksdwarves are of legend. The axedwarves have slain demons! What goblin, nay, any creature, could fell the likes of that? I have the answer: none.

We eagerly awaited the arrival of the first caravan. Although none are here yet, we are preparing vigorously. A statue of raw adamantium was erected where the bulk of the fighting took place... god rest the souls of the fallen heroes.

Update:
Our fortunes seem to have taken a turn for the better! A craftsdwarf by the name of Morul Dalzatlikot was possessed by the gods! Hopefully he can churn out something that will restore glory to our crestfallen Fortress, Swordshot.

Update:
I was correct! Our fortunes have not only made a turn for the better... no, the gods are truly smiling on us. Praise to them! The possessed craftsdwarf has truly created a godly artifact. Although it is a bit... childish. It is a raw adamantine boat. Named Nothis Alil, "The Grief of Glee", it literally doubled the wealth of our fortress! We are a rich fortress now, my friends! Praise be to Morul, our hero! He has singlehandedly taken us out of our time of grief. On a side note, the elves have arrived. We will steal from them this year, as we have every year. They never learn how much we truly hate them, it seems.

Update:
While digging for the adamantine in the lowest of the pits, I struck a wall containing water. As it spilled into the pits, my new miners quickly fled the scene. However, the caged and chained beasts in the pits were... not so lucky. The magma mixed with the water... and, well, let us say that we are having elven spit roast tonight.

Update:
The dirt road leading up to the fortress is nearly 50 percent complete. Hopefully, the frail humans will be able to get their full wagons to us now.

Update: Most of the sad souls locked in the underworld have died. It is somewhat depressing to let them die without helping them... but they were there for crimes that were unspeakable enough to deserve eternal damnation. Who am I to let them free? I will let history run its course... on these few. How wonderful is it to say... I have conquered the underworld. I am a god. My fortress has become the home of a god-king!

Update: I am extracting adamantium strands from the raw adamantine and turning them into wafers... I also have a few raw adamantium statues worth around 32,000. My fortress is lined in Adamantium now. The riches here are unparalelled.

Update: The dungeon master arrived. I am not sure whether I should let him stay... or kill him. I believe I will go with the later. Time to build him a death chamber.

very nice, interesting entrance you have, looks like it could turn out to be a good fort.
is that a dead kobold out side?

I assume so. I was attacked by Kobolds in 208.
