Ectosack - 1058 Mid Spring by Unbeltedsundew

Map Description:

Its been three years since the great calamity. I'm down to seven dwarfs, four of them are nobles, including a hammerer who just killed off my last two useful dwarfs and a tax collector who is hole up in his room with a bunch of gems around him. the other three dwarfs are two children who will probabl be killed when they come of age and a guard. Luckly I've got enough traps to fend off anything but a monster, war dogs coming out the wazoo, and food and drink to last till the second coming (of immigrants hopefully).

Point of Interest: Entrance Grinder

This entrance has chopped up and frightend away countless goblins. Which given that I have no way of fighting them off is a very good thing. If a dragon or another bronze boy (the first was caught in a trap) walks by I'll be in trouble though. I wish there was some one to make cages and load the traps... wishful thinking I guess. - Unbeltedsundew

40 dwarfs dead in construction alone... the catheralesc room is most impressive, as are the other areas of the fort.

This is awesome. I think lassie has survived by not being anywhere near the hammerer or the cave in :)

Wow, I was surprised to see one of my maps on the list of cool things. I'm definitely in superior company! Looking back on this map it's got a lot of features I'd like to return to, particularly the fire suppresion system in the food stores... Sadly I misplaced this save I think, so I guess ill have to do it in a new fort.

Δ 12. Counts apartments
This whole column of rooms all belongs to the count (also his wife but she went insane in the year 57 and died of thirst... because she didnt have a room... or anything else for that matter). Below this is his dining room and below that with the green olivine chair is the throne room and below that tombs for the count and his wife. I only just finished digging them out right before the hammerer decided it was high time the miners started obeying their betters. - Unbeltedsundew
Δ 9. Hammer
Here's the douch-bag who keeps messing things up, actually its the third hammerer since 55. The first got killed by a rampageing dwarf in 55, the other two died after wandering around outside and trying to stop goblin seiges useing stratagies clearly taught to them in hammer school. The reason I have no dwarfs is because each wave of imigration only brought with it a replacement hammerer (its obvious to me that any migrants traveling with the Hammer vanish when they stop for camp). Hopefully I can keep this one alive long enough to get some real dwarfs.

If I could lock him up in a room with food and water I would, but everyone else is dead. I've come to the conclusion that I hate hammerers. - Unbeltedsundew

As you can see I got started on the administrative offices, but my digger was ambushed by dwarven justice. His dogs are sad. - Unbeltedsundew
