Map Description:

This is my first map ever. It is quite a learning project. I didn't follow any of the quickstart guides, so I was pretty stunted early on trying to figure things out. Notably, I'm nowhere near a mountain.

Point of Interest: Entrance

The main entrance. I built up a little keep over my stairwells. There's a lever-operated door to help keep bad guys out. No traps yet. I've been working on roads too. - Daoist

Have you considered barrels or bins? They really do help alot.

¶ 15. Entrance

Δ 14. Dining Hall
The great dining hall! Headed up by the kitchen, with food stores right around the corner, the dining hall is a great place for Dwarves to kick back and drink - Daoist
Δ 14. Haphazard Mishmash of beards
As I said, first try, so I just sorta put everything in there. Notably, this layer isn't rock, so I couldn't smooth the walls or engrave them, and that's lame, so I decided to keep digging down. - Daoist
Δ 14. The Well
It was such a pain in the ass to get this working, so I'm going to point it out. Check out 1 z-level lower for the tunnel connecting it up to the river. The levers in the wall control the doors downstairs to control the water. - Daoist
Δ 12. Living Quarters
The main living quarters. This looked a lot cooler before I figured out that the walls were made out of iron ore, which I couldn't find elsewhere. Oh well. Progress! - Daoist
Δ 10. Nobles' quarters
Still a work in progress here, these are the nobles' quarters. Still have to build a few more and get them luxuriously appointed. - Daoist
Δ 9. Badass throne room
I don't think I have any nobles worth this badassedness, so right now it's the mayor's. He's going to get a rude awakening once I get some real nobility. The living quarters and offices behind await furniture. - Daoist
Δ 8. Looking around
Not finding anything I could make metal out of (see the note on the living quarters) I just started digging down and making long tunnels. If I found anything interesting in the walls I'd dig it out a bit. With nothing else to do with the space, I wanted more food storage. - Daoist
