Squashshoot - 1065 Early Spring by Dorten

Map Description:

Not that much happened.

Uber-Temple-Of-Water is almost finished, and some testing sacrifices of goblins went smoothly. Need to plan carefully now, as I intend to make waterfals flowing from the roof, and they shall not overflow the bottom level (should've reserved two levels for that, but good thoughts are always late to my brain)

There were some design errors in temple construction, so somewhere it's walls are constructed instead of engraved. sad.

Goblins give a steady iron input, but I'm going to make some exploratory shafts to the northern rock salt layers. You can't have enough iron!

Point of Interest: Clearing Temple

This mason's workshop is set to repeating make blocks command. Ned to get rid of all the stone fast, and dumping is just plain boring. - Dorten

I think making a reverse-waterfall from the brook down there would look cool.

Definitely worth a try, but since I have no chasm or aquifer to flush water into, It should be planned VERY carefully.

impressive indeed. I particularly like the design of your trade depot.

Magma vents usually refill themselves slowly.

It's not a vent, its only pool...

Hey Dorten, the double spacing between the walsl look good yeah, but I don't like your 3x3 blocks of up-down-stairs; if you think about them its like a giant shaft filled with ladders that dwarves can fall down... I prefer building sets of stairs winding down into the fortress.

I'd really like to see what happens with the temple of water. I also like the design of it's chamber.

so I forgot to log in and the captcha was Adamantiumcreamy.

Anyway, my dwarves hardly ever fall down stairs.

Also, you can build floor tiles in the tree-flooded areas to provide roads for the traders.

Yep, I've also never seen a dwarf falling from stairs.

If that ever happens, I will redesign the shafts, but until then I'm happy with what I have.

I love this fort. If you don't mind I'm going to use it in a DnD campaign!
