Map Description:

Knightstar lives! It now has a population of 73, and has recently survived a goblin ambush. The military (inluding the guard) currently consists of 15 dwarves, one of whom has had her right lung pierced by a kobold thief's dagger. She now falls unconcious regularly and, needless to say, proudly serves in the fortress guard. As a dabbling wrestler.

Nonsense! Dwarf Fortress is all about digging huge tunnels spanning several Z-levels, and then flooding them with magma!

Maybe it's only because I'm new but I'm vastly impressed with this. You should put it on a T-Shirt.

PS The barbican thing with arrow slits by the drawbridge is a nice touch.

Δ 17. Garden
A small garden with a pond and a statue, surrounded by half-constructed walls made of green olivine (Yes, it would be 500 times more efficient to just use andesite, which composes almost all of my fort, but I like the look of the green stone). The statue is actually an artifact bone statue; I just tossed it in there since I don't really have a better use for it right now. - EatingYourSoul
Δ 17. Hall of the Sun-blade
A mural of a golden sword situated directly above the dining hall. Those two statues aren't actually placed as buildings. They used to be, but I removed them because they kind of messed up the sword design. - EatingYourSoul
Δ 15. Da tunnel!
A tunnel allowing human caravans access into my fortress (The top of the ramp wasn't exported). The construction of a road has begun, but it probably won't be finished for a while... if I decide to finish it at all.

Now, time to dig another tunnel for the dwarven wagons...

Δ 15. Entrance
The defenses of the entrance have been significantly improved. A fortified, 2-layer wall connected to the archery range allows crossbowdwarves to rain death upon invaders - evidence of this can be seen in the goblin corpses just across the drawbridge. If you go up a couple of Z-levels you can see that I am building a floor above the entrance; this is because most of my military dwarves have become cave-adapted, and I don't want them to keel over and start vomiting just when the goblins start coming.

Also don't ask why that mechanic's shop is there. - EatingYourSoul

A caged human swordmaster, who stupidly decided to lead the goblin charge right into a cage trap, awaits death by crossbow bolt. - EatingYourSoul
