Another fortress project since Steppecastles is getting kinda slow. Going for a vaguely Auchindoun-like design, from WoW. Only vaguely though. Some far different elements.
Basically, only similar in the fact they're both big holes in the ground with a "floor" level that is below surrounding ground-level.
Oddly enough, didn't have immigrants for two years. Only at 59 dwarves as of now.
Not much of note on the actual map. Picked something flat but with sand and water. Doubtful that there are any interesting features since there are no mountain tiles.

This is a great idea. I like the bedrooms with windows. It does look a bit like a panopticon prison though :O

Its a very effective defense... because they can run in and surround you? ... The pit is great, its like a huge courtyard. One day, if you were bored, you could glass over it and make a huge window into the sky.

Well, I think it's somewhat effective since the goblins will only be coming from one of those four directions. Marksdwarves in the tower will be picketing them with fire by the time they hit the top of the ramps, and by the time they reach the bottom they should have quite a few missing of their ranks.
