Tomesheart - 1078 Early Spring by Dark Sprite

Map Description:

Awful year. First started off with a goblin siege in Spring. That went okay but the rest of the year went down hill.

Late Spring had another goblins siege where I lost a good herbalist right at the start. I was about to fire ballistic bolts at the goblins but the stupid elven caravan got in the way. I gave them a chance to run into my fort but they failed...

Then once they were dead I tried to resume firing the ballistic but my operators were all sleeping. Goblin leader and two goblins squads charged at the entrance killing 3 stupid haulers but 4 of my champions pushed them off.

While these two goblin squads were retreating the trolls moved in and another goblin squad from the north fired on the champions killing two.

The last two champions killed off the rest but 1 goblin got away. Of course the two champions that died were both mothers of lots of children.

During Summer the whole fort turned into chaos as around 7 dwarves and 4 animals drowned because the sad/crazy children were destroying bridges.

Finally when I recovered and I was getting back on track in early Autumn a even bigger goblin siege came killing my engineer before he could get away.

I hid in my base the entire Autumn firing my catapult at them till they left in early Winter. Better luck next year I hope.

Just a little lot of space... don't strain yourself!

Wow, you captured that at just the right moment. Perfect.

Yeah, I got lucky. I was prepared to wait the siege out but then noticed the troll was taking out the main hallways door. I thought he'd just walk into the stone traps but suddenly he had walked away the main hallway and ran towards the floodgate.

Spent a couple minutes in pause wondering if I wanted to continue with the front of the fort covered in water.

Better then a kick in the teeth I guess? Good to see that the fort hasn't gone to ruin.

How are you going to fill all that space I wonder?

I'm not sure really. I'm gonna build lots of apartments for every type of dwarf and noble rooms will take up alot of room since I plan on getting most of them.

I've got alot of time to work on this and I can delay getting the new version if it comes out soon.

This fortress! It's 2D! HEATHEN!

Err, it's actually pretty neat. Very large.

Heh, don't worry, I'll join you guys one day! This fort is like 2 month old and I do really want to finish it.

I'd like to piss off the humans and go to war soon. I also want to one day use the bloody ballistic to destroy an siege. The last goblin siege had my operator sleeping and by the time he got up my lone crossbow dwarf had made them retreat anyway.
