Tomesheart - 1077 Early Spring by Dark Sprite

Map Description:

Fun year. Antmen and frogmen jumping out of no where, bronze colossus trying to make his home near my fort and lots of dwarfs killing each other.

Inside moat is starting to be dug out and the war against the 9000 rocks had mass casualties taking them down to 7700 rocks.

Yeah, I got lucky. I was prepared to wait the siege out but then noticed the troll was taking out the main hallways door. I thought he'd just walk into the stone traps but suddenly he had walked away the main hallway and ran towards the floodgate.

Spent a couple minutes in pause wondering if I wanted to continue with the front of the fort covered in water.

I'm not sure really. I'm gonna build lots of apartments for every type of dwarf and noble rooms will take up alot of room since I plan on getting most of them.

I've got alot of time to work on this and I can delay getting the new version if it comes out soon.

Heh, don't worry, I'll join you guys one day! This fort is like 2 month old and I do really want to finish it.

I'd like to piss off the humans and go to war soon. I also want to one day use the bloody ballistic to destroy an siege. The last goblin siege had my operator sleeping and by the time he got up my lone crossbow dwarf had made them retreat anyway.

Thats a pretty hude fort! I think it is the first time I have ever seen a fortress that really looked like a fortress before. Cool! =D

Points of Interest

Δ Around 1/5th of the inside moat done.
Kinda scared that I'll screw this up. Really, I haven't had good luck with aqueducts in my forts before. There is also a gap in the cave river that I can't seem to close up with a aqueduct since it's to big and I remember trying to close it with two of them but the parts in the river would bring water to land. =( - Dark Sprite
Δ Filling Spaces.
Okay, a little changes.

North room: This is where the new tombs will be.

Middle room: Now the prison. One of my craftsdwarf got sad and destroyed a bridge killing two animals. I wanted to set up a quick prison so I could bring him back but he went crazy before getting to there.

Funny because a Bronze colossus came a minute later, killed the great crossbow dwarf that I was building the tomb for.

South room: I wanted to put captured goblins in there and then release them into a gauntlet of traps but the goblins kept escaping before they got to the new cage. - Dark Sprite
Δ Fort Entrance.
Finished it but I now want to add to it. Another two lines of statues I guess but I might even add more to it once I finish this upgrade. - Dark Sprite
Δ Over 9000! rocks.
Turning 1300 rocks into items this year while also keeping my bone stock down is hard work so I've been building crafting and mason workshops all over the place and been having lots of catapult training.

I vow that next year I will get the rock count in the fort from 7700 to 5000! - Dark Sprite
Δ Siege Equipment room slaughter.
A bunch of Frogmen raided the room with a lone training dwarf inside. The dwarf ran for his life to outside the room and I locked the doors behind him.

The frogman waited in the bottom left corner of the room trapped looking for a way out till three heavily armored champion dwarfs busted into the room.

The poor training dwarf had to stay in the room as the frogmen corpses rotted away. - Dark Sprite
Δ The Death of the Colossus and the Hero.
This is where the battle took place and I think that is the jaguar that the Hero was hunting. Story.

A jaguar was harassing the Plant Gatherers and the Great Dwarf Champion was sent to remove it. As the Dwarf went towards the target a Colossus jumped out killed him.

The whole available military went out and swarmed the Colossus to he was cut in half. A baby that one of the dwarf warrior died during the battle and a Marksdwarf and Hammerdwarf were injured in the battle.

Later that Hammerdwarf went into a melancholy mood and the Marksdwarf had gone berserk bashing the poor Hammerdwarf to death. The Dwarf that lost their baby during the battle ran up to the berserk Marksdwarf strking him down - Dark Sprite
