Early autumn and the farms are all set up - Meagre crops to start with (well, that's a lie - but relative to later they're meagre!) but plenty to keep the dwarves going so far!
Planning for the green glass start has begun, as has surveying the lake for a suitable layout.
We have decided we will have to start along the near lake-bed and then descend underwater once we are past the lake shelf, at least until a point when we can dig under our entrance tunnel and expand the lake size itself.

( 1051 Early Summer to 1051 Early Autumn )
The farms will keep our dwarves sustained for the forseeable future.
8 Plots to the north are underground and will grow Quarry Bushes for sustenance, the 4 to the south are open to the air to allow us the occasional indulgence into foreign tipples.
The two workshops you can see are a threshers (farmer's workshop) on the left, and a kitchen on the right. Can't eat Quarry bush leaves raw / off the vine! - matryx

Hunting for the aquifer, our dwarves are curious as to whether or not it exists purely under the lake or if it seeps into the ground nearby as well. Thus far it appears to be contained under the lake. - matryx
