Moonchannel - 255 Early Spring by Dwarfbux

Map Description:

The fortress is still soldiering along. Most things at this point hinge upon completing the large water system before anything really awesome can be done, such as moats or execution chambers. Some of the exterior defensive structures either have been built or are being built presently. If I actually had neighbors that brought sieges then they would have a difficult time, though that is probably more from the fortress military than any other real factor.

There were two attacks this year. One was from a forgotten beast in the form of a giant newt which was slain without incident. The other was a werellama which wouldn't have caused a problem were it not for the fact that it spawned near an area where civilians spend a lot of time hauling stone. It was slain, but only after a macedwarf got bit in the skull and died almost instantly. Luckily nobody suffered further injury.

Perhaps the water shall flow sometime this year!

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

Well... Good luck with DF2014! It's only a few months at most for DF2015. I'm interested by the fact that goblins have joined a dwarven civilization. I had dwarves join goblins, or maybe they were raised from kidnapped dwarves or a clan of dwarves.

Enjoy the improvements, I'll be following your maps from the archive, I like your dwarfcentric playing.

Yeah the entrance doesn't hold a lot of gloom glitter nor glory atm. It's interesting to read how you talk about resourcing. But hey, you're only on year 2!

That was actually at the end of four years. I didn't upload the first few years since I didn't know if I would bust through understanding the military interface this time. Luckily, I did!

Man this is a GREAT fort!

I love the big X hallway in your Legendary Dwarf Quarters level.

When I look at the legendary dwarf quarters, a certain long forgotten feeling emerges... like something falling around the lungs or stomach. Jealousy? Awe? Pride?
